Vancouver, it's a party town!
First off, the best part of the con was meeting fellow fans.

Now, for the guests. Aldis Hodges was just lovely. He was sweet, witty and man, was he a smooth operator. Whoever dreamt up of 'Ladies of Supernatural' should be given a medal. Alona, Julie and Traci were amazing. The three played off each other and they were hilarious. I felt bad for Julie McNiven because she couldn't answer any questions pertaining to Mad Men. Misha was entertaining but his level of sarcasm was hard to bear sometimes. However, when the autograph session came he was actually very cordial and lovely to talk with. He asked where I was from: I answered Tacoma. He then proceed to hum a song about the city. I had no idea what he was singing. He swore the song existed and told me to google it. I found two, but I can't help but wonder if I'd been had... I also got to chat with AJ Buckley about one of his first acting stints. He immediately remembered the role and was quite surprised that I knew about it.
Unfortunately, I had to leave early on Sunday so I ended up missing the Js altogether. But I spotted Steve Carlson and ended up bumping into Alona Tal and Julie McNiven. I swear I saw Danneel Harris but I can't say for certain b/c she was wearing huge sunglasses. The other down side to the con experience was of course the scheduling situation. Obviously Creation Con went for the pocketbook and ended up screwing the fans over. Also, bizarrely, the vendors couldn't take Canadian debit (at least for Friday) even though the entire thing took place in Vancouver. Figure that one out! On the upside,

Vancouver was gorgeous. I stayed in Opus Hotel and was so glad b/c my room was very quiet in spite of being located in Yaletown. The neighborhood was great! Loaded to the gills with great restaurants and small boutiques, AND literally three cafes every block leading right up to the Sheraton where the con took place. I was well-caffeinated for the weekend, and needed to b/c I was taking my allergy meds. They were also incredibly pet-friendly: I saw dogs in clothing shops, coffee shops, and in hotels.
I had a facepalm moment. I was desperately hunting down various Olympic souvenirs for my hubby and daughter. As it turned out, there is an Olympic shop right AT THE AIRPORT. It was four gates from my departure which was 1.5 hours delayed due to mechanical difficulties. Seriously? I could've booked a later flight and not missed the Js. %*#)%(*#)(*$!!!! and still arrived earlier than my originally scheduled flight. :9
I have pics and am still sorting through them. They are ginormous. And when in full size they are bit blurry. However, once shrunk down to say oh ... 600-500, they are quite good. So, when I get them uploaded, I'll post a download link.
The funniest bit was when I finally reached home. My hubby spotted me and turned to our kiddie unit and says in a deadpan voice: "The sheriff's back in town." There was a power struggle the moment I left on Friday, and from what I've been told our two-year-old toddler won by Saturday morning and was running the entire show. I'm still laughing about that!
