November and December were harsh. Besides the holiday crunch and visiting family, our youngest was repeatedly hospitalized for uncontrolled asthma. The little bird's doing well now but I spent most of January recuperating. So, my writing's taken the backseat.

As you can see from the banner above I've decided to dive back into the deep end. It'll probably classified as original fic even though I've incorporated Dark Materials (the daemon mythology) somewhat along with a huge amount of Roman military history I've studied in my youth. I'd actually studied to become a priest before my life took a sharp turn to the left, and weirdly, I ended up studying a lot of military history that seemed to flow alongside Church History right through WWII. Don't ask, I didn't: the damn teachers were Jesuits. Every. Single. ONE.

And if they weren't, they didn't tell me otherwise.

So, His Dark Materials, Military History, bunch of ideas of Anchors and Guards, and a metric crap ton of world building that will parallel current history.

This should get me through until Avengers Big Bang revs up!
