I realize my stories were getting out of control. So, here's the master list!

oh dear )
Big Bang was going well, still is.

Got even better news.

I don't have cancer. The pathologist's final diagnosis came this evening. That's after three separate mini-surgical procedures and nearly two months of waiting. We thought it wasn't before the California trip, but then we came back to voicemail from my doc asking me back so they can start few other tests just to make sure.

Thank God we went on vacay thinking it wasn't b/c I don't think I would've enjoyed the sun and the pool while mulling over the idea that I had cancer. Kinda cried when I got the news. Had no idea how stressed I was until the burden was off my back.

I've got a nice bottle of eiswein chillin' in the fridge for occasions like tonight.
I've been busy editing my Big Bang and working hard to put together the best soundtrack for the story.

I am honestly proud of this story, but I think this soundtrack has to be best compilation I've ever made, and probably will make.

So, it's all good on this front!
Besides allergies from hell, I'm doing pretty damn good on the Big Bang front. I've gone through it once, and the word count is 34k. The initial count was 30k. As it turned out I kinda lost 2.5k when I sent it to the big bang mods.

I hope to GOD the mods just scanned the damn thing 'cause there was a chapter in there that ain't gonna make much sense without the 2k! The other 2k just appeared after careful editing.

Going to take a break, work on the music to this epic before going back to editing.

Watch another 4k appear like magic!
Okay, so It's Only A Paper Moon is finally done. Of course it's about two months later than I'd thought but hey, it's finished!

Now, onto two Halloween challenges. The first is for a Jane Austen fandom where the only requirement is that I drown Darcy. In that %(#)%*&# pond. I'm torn between using an anchor chain or have the Great Cthulhu rise from its watery depths and eat the Master of Pemberley out of sheer vexation. Hey, if Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is possible, then Lovecrafting the goddamn thing can't be that hard.

The second one is going to be a blast. It's for [livejournal.com profile] spn_halloween. I'm going to enlist Mike Rowe and his crew from Dirty Jobs and toss them into Stephen King's favorite haunt: Derry, Maine. And then add the Winchesters. This practically writes itself. Camera angles included.
I've had hard drive losses before, so I've been backing things up. Unfortunately, I don't do it as often as I should. The good news is that I've posted old versions of my BB on this LJ, so I've been hammering it again.

Gotta tell you - it's a bit depressing to retread old steps. Not that I can complain much, since it's better than rewriting 35+K!

However, it does suck to have lost all my bookmarks, not to mention various applications and fonts I've managed to download over the years. Gotta remember to back those up along with data from now onwards.

To put a cherry on top of this entire debacle, I was hit with food poisoning on Wednesday afternoon. I was pretty much wiped out for Thursday and today's the first day I feel even remotely human. If I don't drink another cup of flat ginger ale in the next four months, I'll be grateful.

Hopefully, all the drama in my life's played out and our trip to NYC next week will go smoothly. I've bought portable dvd player for my daughter, so she won't go ballistic 3.2 hours into the flight. That little cyclone has lungs that could deafen a bat in Manila if she puts her mind to it. :9
So, about that writing thing...

blah blah blah and a side order of blah )
