I have a nineteen-month old toddler, so I packed a bottle of milk, a bag of cheerios, three books to entertain her and the large umbrella b/c it was raining outside. Got to the local church where the voting was taking place to find I was 12 in line. It wasn't even 6:15AM.
The milk and cheerios were gone by 6:30 AM. However, the gentleman in front of me had a 5.5 month old St. Bernard puppy who was mesmerized by my little girl. The two had a staring contest that went on until the polls opened. It's still raining when I was done by 7:20 and the lines were already tremendous.
Take a book or an iPod (if you have one) or a cell, but go vote. If I can do it in a downpour with a cyclone of a toddler then you can also.
