As a writer, I am always curious to see my readers' reactions to my stories, especially when the writing is not the usual fare. This curiosity doubles when it comes to fanfiction. My writing in SPN fandom falls within two categories: gen/case fic and J2, a genre of fanfic that is usually character-driven. However, my J2 stories are plot-driven, which can cause unnecessary complications and confuse the reader. This was my biggest fear with Three Grams because I put the entire J2 genre in space, a thousand years in the future, in a society that's both feudal and futuristic. Then, there was the dreaded 'major character death' warning I tagged on because hey, truth in advertising and all that.

So, I was heartened to read the responses and know that though I've put the J2 in an alien (no pun intended) storyline, the core of what makes J2 so beloved still held true. Then, I was even more heartened to have people volunteer to review it as a [livejournal.com profile] dvd_commentary and a podfic. Seriously, to know that a story has reverberated with the readers to this degree meant I got something right. Anyway, here is [livejournal.com profile] somnolentblue's dvd commentary of Three Grams.

She put in huge amount of work with the commentary, I should know. I did one with [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster's Save As and it's not an easy task.

It's going to be a while before my ego deflates to its usual size so bear with me! :))
My commentary for [livejournal.com profile] poisontaster's Save As is up! I pruned that sucker quite a bit. Maybe too much. *rubs face*

But it's done! *runs around the chair in victory*
Finished the rough draft for [livejournal.com profile] dvd_commentary. It's fifty-one pages. Before you wonder if I suffer from a terminal case of logorrhea, PT wrote 23,733 so I only contributed around 2300. So there! :9

Have to check the tags to make sure it won't go wonky on other people's screens. Also, have to read few other commentaries to make sure I got it right. For all I know I just went off the deep end and am currently heading towards Saturn.
The Unsayable Sums is finished. That was suppose to be around 20k. Okay, well, at least it's done! And now I can totally focus my attention on the dvd commentary I volunteered to do on PT's Save As, which will be all sorts of awesome for me and probably traumatic for everyone else, author included.

And the reason I mentioned Viggo Mortensen. Appaloosa. Man, this movie looks so damn good. He and Ed Harris were born to do great westerns.
